About the Role
As part of the Independence – Clients team under Deloitte’s Quality and Risk (Q&R) function, you will help ensure Deloitte Australia remains compliant with global independence standards. Your work will support internal processes such as independence checks, third-party due diligence, and ongoing compliance monitoring.
This position offers tremendous exposure to regulatory compliance, research tools, and global frameworks—ideal for candidates looking to start a successful journey in tech-enabled compliance careers.
Roles and Responsibilities
Implement Deloitte’s global policies related to business relationships with third parties.
Conduct independence checks using tools like ASIC, Ilion, Factiva, and Hoovers.
Research third-party entities to understand ownership, corporate structure, and risk exposure.
Perform and document findings of independence assessments accurately.
Distinguish between relevant and irrelevant search results and provide an initial risk analysis.
Use Deloitte’s internal systems to log updates and complete assessment workflows.
Maintain trackers, upload documentation, and ensure evidence and correspondence are organized.
Support business relationship monitoring and completeness testing.
Ensure timely response and elevation of queries based on team SLAs.
Progress toward handling tasks independently with minimal supervision.
Engage with internal stakeholders across Deloitte Australia and EDC India.
Skills Required
Excellent research and analysis skills.
Strong verbal and written communication—essential for documentation.
Detail-oriented with an organized approach to task management.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general computer systems.
Comfortable with ambiguity and quick learning environments.
Strong sense of accountability and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (any discipline).
0–18 months of experience in financial research, market research, or similar domains.
Familiarity with tools like OneSource, Hoovers, Factiva, or Deloitte systems (preferred).
Previous experience or internship in Practice Review, Compliance, or Risk Management is a bonus
