Job Description

The AI/ML Software Engineer will join the R&D team focused on developing advanced Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs). The chosen candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing the software algorithms that empower the AMR with “intelligence,” allowing it to autonomously navigate complex environments, make real-time decisions, and continuously enhance its performance. Below is a detailed overview of the key roles and responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Develop algorithms to optimally navigate robots from point A to point B using A* or D* pathfinding, PRM or RRT for path exploration, and reinforcement learning for real-time optimization.

Implement real-time obstacle avoidance using sensor fusion (LIDAR, cameras, ultrasonic sensors), neural networks for object recognition, and decision-making via potential fields or dynamic window approaches.

Create decision-making algorithms for complex tasks like route selection or task prioritization using MDP/POMDP models, AI planning methods (STRIPS), and rule-based or fuzzy logic systems.

Build self-learning mechanisms for robots to improve navigation and task execution using reinforcement learning (DQN, PPO), supervised learning for perception, and online learning for continuous adaptation.

Integrate computer vision systems for environmental perception using CNNs for object detection, visual SLAM for mapping and tracking, and tools like OpenCV, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.

Design and conduct simulations of the warehouse environment using robotics simulators (Gazebo, Webots, Unity3D) and ROS for testing and integrating AI algorithms in virtual or real environments.

Collaborate with robotics, computer vision, and embedded systems engineers to integrate AI algorithms, ensuring coordination with control systems and cloud/IoT teams for deployment.

Continuously optimize algorithms for real-time performance by applying pruning, quantization, and model compression, ensuring fast decision-making even on embedded systems or GPUs.

Use profiling and debugging techniques to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, improving the overall responsiveness of robot software.

Ensure seamless integration of AI algorithms into the broader robotics framework by working closely with other engineering teams, aligning functionality and optimising system-level performance.

Requirements

Expected Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python, C++, and ROS (Robot Operating System).

AI/ML Frameworks: Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, or other AI/ML libraries.

SLAM and Path Planning Algorithms: Familiarity with SLAM techniques, such as EKF-SLAM, and pathfinding algorithms.

Robotic Operating Systems: Familiarity with ROS for managing the integration of algorithms with physical robots.

Mathematical Foundations: Strong understanding of linear algebra, probability, and optimization techniques used in machine learning and robotics.

Good technical aptitude and communication skills.

Good problem-solving abilities.

Fluent in English. Multilingual is preferable.

Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Good presentation skills.

Should be able to travel for business purposes.

 Expected Qualification:

Completed Bachelor or Master degree with one of the below disciplines:

Computer Science

Robotics

Electronics and Communication

Electrical and Electronics

Freshers are eligible to apply

Maximum total experience should not exceed 1 year.

Benefits

During the 12-month training period, the salary will be INR 30,000 per month for candidates with a Master’s degree and INR 25,000 per month for those with a Bachelor’s degree.

Upon successful completion of training and a performance review, you will be offered full-time employment with an annual salary ranging from INR 4,50,000 to 6,50,000.
