Job Description
The Transportation Specialist acts as the primary interface between Amazon and external stakeholders such as carriers and transporters. The role facilitates information flow between carriers, hubs, warehouses, and resolves issues impacting customer experience and business continuity.
The specialist provides timely resolution by researching internal tools and taking real-time decisions. The role requires strong data analysis skills, understanding of logistics, and the ability to drive customer experience without compromising timelines. The specialist is also responsible for leading a team of L2s during shifts and driving outcomes.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Communication with external customers (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal customers for ad-hoc cancellations, delays, or disruptions.
- Systematically escalate problems or data variances to relevant teams and ensure resolution.
- Pull data from databases using Excel, Access, SQL, or other tools and perform ad-hoc analysis.
- Develop and understand performance metrics to drive business results.
- Communicate clearly and professionally while understanding business impact of trends.
- Provide real-time customer experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Create narratives outlining weekly findings with excellent written communication.
About the Team
The Relay Operations (RO) team is the central command and control center for Transportation Execution across the Amazon Supply Chain network in India. The team manages operations from first mile to last mile delivery, resolves exceptions, and works on automation and process improvements through network monitoring and data analysis.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field such as computer science, engineering, or statistics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with MS Office, especially MS Excel.
- Experience with SQL.
