 Myntra’s Engineering team builds the technology platform that empowers our customers’ shopping experience and enables the smooth flow of products from suppliers to our customers’ doorsteps. We work on areas such as building massive-scale web applications, engaging user interfaces, big-data analytics, mobile apps, workflow systems, inventory management, etc. We are a small technology team where each individual has a huge impact. Myntra’s cloud-based big data platform is highly scalable and processes over 6 billion events per day. Over the last year, we have been on a journey to productize data platforms and offer Data ingestion, streaming, processing, and visualization as self-serve offerings for Myntra’s data consumers. We use the best-of-breed open-source components as starting points to build out these capabilities. The team has built a Big Data Platform to ingest data from a variety of data sources, standardize metrics, and build data & analytics products.

Data and ML Platform engineering employ new-age technologies such as Distributed Computing constructs, Real-Time model predictions, Deep Learning, Accelerated Compute (GPU); scalable feature stores Cassandra, MySQL, Elastic Search, Solr, Aerospike; scalable programming constructs in, Python and ML Frameworks  (TensorFlow, Pytorch, etc).

Key Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities :-

1. Installation and configuration of MySQL instances on single or multiple ports.
2. Hands-on experience of working with MysQL 5.7 and MySQL 8.
3. Clear understanding of MysQL Replication process flows , threads , setting up multi node clusters and basic troubleshooting.
4. Understanding of at least one of the backup  and recovery methods for MySQL .
5. Strong fundamentals of SQL and able to understand and tune complex SQL queries when needed.
6. Strong fundamentals on the linux system side  and monitoring tools like top , iostats , sar etc.
7. At Least couple of years of production hands on experience  on medium to big sized MySQL databases.
8. Setting up and maintaining users and privileges  management system and troubleshooting relevant access issues.
9. Some exposure to external tools like Percona , ProxySQL , HAP etc.
10. Understand the transaction flows and ACID compliance.
11. Basic understanding of networking concepts .
12. Performing on-call support and should be able to provide the first level support .
13. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
14. Strong shell scripting skills  . Good to have Python .

Secondary responsibilities. :-

1. Able to configure and setup NOSQL databases like mongodb and Cassandra.
2. Ability to learn new technologies along with a team and a positive outlook to understand problems from the business point of view.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proficiency in database management systems such as , MySQL or NoSQL databases.
• SQL programming and database design skills.
• Knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with database security best practices.
• Scripting and automation skills (Good to have- Python).
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
